Tanker Appeal
The Sturt Country Fire Service (CFS) Group is very happy to announce that the tanker appeal has reached the fund raising target and construction is almost complete and is in the final stages of checkout. The tanker will be delivered in October 2015 and will have full operational capability by the start of the 2015-16 fire danger season.

The tanker carries 13,000 L of water and be stationed at Cherry Gardens. The call sign of the tanker with be Sturt BWC13 where BWC stands for Bulk Water Carrier.
The tanker is fitted with a compressed air foam system (CAFS) capable pump. The Sturt Group currently has two CAFS appliances (Eden Hills 14 and Blackwood 24) however this will be the first Bulk Water Carrier in the CFS fleet with this capability.
Ongoing Appeal
While the goal of funding a second tanker for the group has been reached we continually strive to provide the best possible Fire and Rescue Service to the residents of our area. The ongoing fund raising by the Sturt Group goes towards providing equipment and training beyond the base level funded by the state.

Early in 2014 the Sturt Group will mail an appeal letter to house holds in the Sturt Group area. This will contain a postage paid envelope for donations via Credit Card or Check.
